Unauthenticated command execution via crafted upgrade upload
Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Code injection in Symantec Privileged Access Management 4.1.0 through 4.1.7 and 3.4.6 allows remote attackers to execute commands through an upgrade upload. The PAM upgrade endpoint accepts a specially crafted upgrade file for command execution; Broadcom has not published the underlying parsing or validation defect. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must reach the appliance from an adjacent network; exploitation grants command execution on the PAM system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
