CVE-2024-36454Network attack vector

Unauthenticated denial of service via uninitialized WAF resource

Published Jun 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Use of an uninitialized resource in the IPCOM WAF function through V01L07NF0201 allows remote attackers to reboot or suspend the system. The WAF packet-processing path uses an uninitialized resource when it handles a specially crafted packet; the resource and packet field are undisclosed. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is a reboot or suspended service without data disclosure or modification.
