CVE-2024-36451Network attack vector

Authenticated console-session hijacking in ajaxterm

Published Jul 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper privilege handling in Webmin's ajaxterm module before 2.003 allows remote authenticated users to hijack another user's console session. The published CNA and JVN materials identify the ajaxterm module but do not disclose the request handler, session identifier, or missing authorization operation that permits the takeover. A valid low-privilege Webmin account is required; a hijacked console can expose or modify system data and interrupt the server.
