Authenticated file disclosure and overwrite via path traversal
Published Aug 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024
Path traversal in Swissphone DiCal-RED 4009 allows remote authenticated users to read and overwrite arbitrary files via its web interface. The fdmcgiwebv2.cgi download and display actions accept absolute FilePath values, while its upload handler writes filenames containing ../ outside the intended directory. Administrative credentials are required; exposed files disclose device data, while overwritten configuration, binaries, or scripts can fully compromise the device.
