Admin-level stored script execution via unescaped settings
Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
Stored XSS in Newsletter Popup 1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted newsletter settings. The Add New workflow saves crafted text-input and textarea values without sanitizing or escaping them, and Manage Newsletters renders the stored values when a newsletter is edited. Administrator access and a later page view are required; script execution occurs in the viewer's WordPress browser context even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
