Authenticated SQL injection via unsanitized sort order
Published May 27, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
SQL injection in OrangeHRM Starter 3.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data through sortOrder. The admin/viewProjects endpoint treats the sortOrder value as SQL syntax in an ORDER BY clause, enabling Boolean-based blind and stacked-query payloads. A valid authenticated session is required; the published proof uses an administrator account, while exposure to other roles is unconfirmed.
