Subscriber deletion via missing CSRF validation
Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Newsletter Popup 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete subscribers through a forged admin request. The wp_newsletter_show_localrecord administration page accepts action=delete and a subscriber record identifier without validating a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open an attacker-supplied link, and the demonstrated consequence is deletion of the selected subscriber record.
