CVE-2024-3641Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator script execution via unescaped newsletter data

Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Stored XSS in mndpsingh287 Newsletter Popup 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The unauthenticated save_newsletter AJAX action stores the nl_data parameter without sufficient sanitization or output escaping, and the Local Record view renders the injected markup. A newsletter configured to save submissions locally and an administrator who opens the stored record are required; the script runs with that administrator's browser privileges.
