CVE-2024-36359Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via HTTP Inspection script injection

Published Jun 10, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance 6.5 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges. HTTP Inspection fails to validate user-supplied data before placing it in web output, permitting injection of an arbitrary script. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution and user interaction, and grants access to resources normally protected from that user.
