SYSTEM code execution via symbolic-link file deletion
Published Jun 10, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Link following in Trend Micro Deep Security Agent before 20.0.1-3180 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM. The Anti-Malware Solution Platform service follows an attacker-created symbolic link when deleting a file, redirecting its privileged deletion to an attacker-chosen path. Low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows host is required, and successful exploitation grants SYSTEM privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
