Local privilege escalation via improper signature verification
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Improper signature verification in the Radeon RGB tool for RX 7000 Series products allows local users to execute elevated code. The tool improperly validates a planted installation-directory file's cryptographic signature before launching that file with elevated privileges. Local low-privileged access and user participation are required, after which the planted file can execute arbitrary code with elevated rights.
