CVE-2024-36321

Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path

Published May 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Unquoted search-path handling in AMD AIM-T Manageability Service before 4.0.0.891 allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges. The service supplies its executable search path without quotation marks, allowing Windows to resolve an attacker-controlled executable at an earlier path boundary. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and user interaction; successful exploitation grants elevated arbitrary code execution.
