Authenticated code execution via unchecked SSID copy
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in usbip.cgi on Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The set_info() function reads an arbitrary-length SSID POST value and uses sprintf to append suffixes into two fixed-size stack buffers without checking the input length. A valid session cookie and network access to the router are required; a crafted request can overwrite the function return address or crash usbip.cgi.
