CVE-2024-36266

Local authentication bypass via unprotected responses

Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper authentication in Siemens PowerSys before 3.11 allows local users to gain administrative control of managed remote devices. PowerSys insufficiently protects responses to authentication requests, but Siemens has not disclosed the responsible component or failed check. Local access to the PowerSys service environment is required; successful exploitation permits administrative actions on connected PowerLink 50/100 or SWT 3000 devices.
