CVE-2024-36107Network attack vector

Object metadata disclosure via premature precondition checks

Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024

Information disclosure in MinIO before RELEASE.2024-05-27T19-17-46Z allows remote attackers to read object metadata via anonymous GET requests. GetObject evaluates If-Modified-Since or If-Unmodified-Since before checking whether anonymous access to the object's metadata is permitted. An attacker who knows a bucket name and guesses an object name can confirm its existence and obtain its latest Last-Modified, ETag, version, Expires, and Cache-Control values, but cannot read object contents through this flaw.
