Arbitrary file write via unfiltered filename
Published May 24, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Path traversal in Vaultize DRM 21.07.27 allows remote authenticated users to write temporary files outside the intended directory. The upload handler accepts absolute-path components in the filename without filtering, and the download flow uses that name to create the temporary file. Downloading a crafted upload places the file at an attacker-chosen path with the application's permissions, enabling writes such as an SSH public key.
