CVE-2024-36076Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Note theft and modification via unchecked WebSocket origins

Published May 19, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Cross-site WebSocket hijacking in Syslifters GmbH SysReptor 2024.28 through 2024.30 allows attackers to read and write user notes. The server accepts WebSocket upgrades without validating Origin and authenticates them with session cookies that browsers attach to same-site requests. Exploitation requires a logged-in user to visit a malicious same-site subdomain; project-note access also requires the project UUID.
