Unauthenticated command execution via diagnostic input metacharacters
Published Oct 30, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
OS command injection in EnGenius EnStation5-AC firmware 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute shell commands via diagnostic inputs. The Ping and Speed Test handlers pass metacharacter-bearing values from Number of Pings, Target IP, Time Period, Check Interval, and IPv4 Port to a shell without neutralization. Network access to the device's web interface is sufficient; command execution can disclose information, alter device state, or interrupt service.
