Admin-level code execution via unsanitized ZIP filename
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
OS command injection in Koha Community Koha Library before 23.05.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands via a ZIP filename. The upload-cover-image.pl handler inserts the attacker-controlled filename directly into a qx/unzip shell command, allowing backticks and other shell metacharacters to execute commands. Exploitation requires a high-privilege staff session, a ZIP upload, and selection of Process Images; commands run with the web server account's privileges.
