Unauthenticated email enumeration via missing capability check
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in AYS Pro Plugins Poll Maker 5.1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to enumerate WordPress email addresses. The ays_poll_create_author function processes attacker-controlled character probes without a capability check and reveals whether each probe matches an address. No authentication is required, and repeated responses disclose addresses one character at a time without modifying site data.
