Local service interruption via empty-list migration
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated May 12, 2026
Improper input validation in Linux mlxsw ACL-TCAM code allows local users to interrupt service during ACL rehashing. The region and chunk migration helpers call list_first_entry() without first checking whether their respective lists are empty, triggering a kernel warning in rehash work. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and an active mlxsw Spectrum ACL rehash; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
