Unauthenticated stored XSS via quick-start AJAX action
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in AYS Pro Plugins Poll Maker 5.1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The ays_poll_maker_quick_start AJAX handler accepts and stores poll content without a capability check or sufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient to create a malicious poll; script execution occurs when a user visits the page, exposing data and actions available in that browser session.
