Kernel hang via nonterminating translation-table resize

Infinite loop in batman-adv in Linux 3.13 and later allows local users to hang kernel work through an incompatible mesh setup. The local translation-table resize loop repeatedly halves a timeout until it reaches zero, then keeps trying to purge entries that cannot fit the available MTU. Reaching the loop requires local control of batman-adv interfaces, VLANs, non-purgeable addresses, MTU, or fragmentation settings; the consequence is a stuck kernel worker and continuous log output.
