Service interruption via unreleased Bluetooth request state
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated May 12, 2026
Memory leakage in the Bluetooth request path in affected Linux kernels allows local users to interrupt service through repeated requests. hci_req_sync_complete assigns a new request reference without first releasing the previous synchronization request state, retaining kernel memory. A local low-privilege context with access to the Bluetooth request path is required, and the documented consequence is limited to availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
