Block-cgroup list corruption during disk rebind
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated May 23, 2026
List corruption in the Linux kernel 5.18 and selected later releases allows attackers to corrupt block-cgroup state during disk rebind. The blkcg_init_disk() path reinitializes q->blkg_list while delayed blkg_free_workfn() cleanup can leave a blkg linked, corrupting the queue list. Reachability requires multiple gendisk instances to be allocated and added for one request queue during disk rebind; no further security consequence is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
