Kernel panic via unset packet protocol

Denial of service in Linux 6.7 through 6.8.4 allows attackers to panic the kernel by supplying an unknown packet type to the idpf driver. The idpf_rx_process_skb_fields function returns before eth_type_trans sets the packet protocol and network-layer handler for an unrecognized type. The panic occurs when tcpdump is running as the packet arrives; public sources do not establish whether an unprivileged remote sender can create the required packet type.
