Kernel memory exposure and corruption via mmap race
Published May 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux kernel io_uring 6.6.5 through 6.6.25 and 6.7 allows local users to read or alter kernel memory via a race. io_uring_validate_mmap_request() maps bl->buf_ring while concurrent buffer-ring unregister can release its unreferenced io_buffer_list. An unprivileged local account can drive both sides when io_uring is enabled, yielding stale shared-memory access or a kernel panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
