CVE-2024-35845

Local service interruption via unterminated debug TLV

Published May 17, 2024 · Updated May 12, 2026

Improper input validation in the Linux kernel iwlwifi driver 5.5 and later allows local users to cause a service interruption. iwl_dbg_tlv_alloc_debug_info accepted debug_cfg_name without a terminating NUL and passed the field to a %s debug log, permitting a read beyond its boundary. Reachability requires Intel iwlwifi hardware and processing a malformed debug-information TLV; the reported consequence is availability loss.
