Stored XSS via unescaped form message setting
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Stored XSS in Popup4Phone 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with Editor access to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The form-submission message setting accepts a closing textarea tag and script markup without sanitizing input or escaping it when the form is rendered. Editor access is required, and the flaw remains reachable when unfiltered_html is disabled, including on multisite installations.
