Author-level code execution via local file inclusion
Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Local file inclusion in John West Slideshow SE 2.5.17 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to include server-side files. Public advisories do not identify the affected PHP function or input parameter; they state only that an attacker-controlled path reaches a file-inclusion operation. Author-level access is required, and code execution additionally depends on a PHP payload already present in an includable local file.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
