Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Jun 10, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in A WP Life Image Gallery 1.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify plugin settings. The _ajax_image_gallery and _ig_save_settings handlers process settings requests without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the documented consequence is limited to unauthorized plugin-setting changes.
