Authenticated command execution via ap_mode injection
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Command injection in NETGEAR EX3700 firmware before 1.0.0.98 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The operating_mode.cgi handler passes the ap_mode parameter into command execution when ap_24g_manual is 1 and ap_24g_manual_sec is NotNone. Exploitation requires local-network access through WiFi or Ethernet plus the extender's administrative credentials, and successful commands run in the device context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
