Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ap_mode parameter
Published Oct 14, 2024 · Updated Mar 17, 2025
OS command injection in NETGEAR EX6120 1.0.0.68, EX6100 1.0.2.28, and EX3700 1.0.0.96 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. operating_mode.cgi supplies the ap_mode parameter to the acos_service command path without neutralizing command syntax. Exploitation requires access through WiFi or Ethernet plus extender administrator credentials and runs attacker-supplied commands on the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
