Authenticated command execution via unneutralized DNS input
Published Oct 14, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Command injection in NETGEAR EX6120 1.0.0.68 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through its administrative web interface. The genie_fix2.cgi handler incorporates the wan_dns1_pri parameter into a system command without neutralizing command-control characters. Exploitation requires WiFi or Ethernet access plus administrator credentials, and successful injection grants control over the extender's data and operation.
