Code execution via blacklist-bypassing file upload
Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Arbitrary file upload in DedeCMS 5.7.114 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the administrative file manager. In dede/file_manage_control.php, a denylist scans uploaded content for dangerous function names but fails to block inclusion functions and obfuscated callable names. Administrative file-manager access is required to create a PHP loader and a second payload file, after which requesting the loader executes the payload as the web-server account.
