CVE-2024-35427Public exploit

Process crash via malformed WebAssembly export

Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

Invalid memory read in VMIR e8117 allows local users to crash the process by supplying a crafted WebAssembly file for execution. The export_function parser in src/vmir_wasm_parser.c reads an invalid or null address while processing a malformed export entry, producing a segmentation fault. Execution of the crafted file by VMIR is required, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of the VMIR process.
