Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked desc copy
Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK CP900L 4.1.5cu.798_B20221228 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted desc value. SetPortForwardRules copies the untrusted desc parameter into a fixed-size stack buffer without an adequate bounds check. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is limited to service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
