Filesystem deletion via unauthenticated controller packets
Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Missing authentication in Series 700 firmware 0.1.17.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to erase program logic via controller ports. Two controller communication ports accept and process malformed or unintended packets without authentication, rebooting the controller and deleting its program-logic filesystem. Network access to the controller segment is required, and exploitation causes data loss and a service interruption rather than confidentiality loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
