CVE-2024-35292Network attack vector

Service interruption via predictable IP identification values

Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Use of insufficiently random values in Siemens SIMATIC S7-200 SMART CPUs allows remote attackers to interrupt service over IP networks. The devices emit predictable IPv4 identification sequence values, enabling attacks that depend on forecasting packet identifiers. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation exposes limited information and interrupts controller availability.
