Remote code execution via HTTP/3 stream race
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 10, 2026
Remote code execution in ASP.NET Core 8.0 through 8.0.6 allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted Kestrel HTTP/3 requests. Kestrel's Http3Stream processes DATA frames without locking against concurrent stream aborts, allowing writes or flushes after the request-body pipe is aborted. Exposure requires an application listening with HTTP/3; .NET 6.0 is affected only when its experimental HTTP/3 support is used.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
