CVE-2024-35223Network attack vector

App token disclosure via cross-sidecar metadata forwarding

Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information exposure in Dapr 1.13.0 through 1.13.2 allows remote attackers to obtain an invoker app token through gRPC proxy calls. The grpc_proxy intercept path appends the caller sidecar's local APP_API_TOKEN to inter-sidecar egress metadata instead of limiting it to calls into the local app. Exploitation requires gRPC proxy service invocation with App API token authentication; the receiving app can reuse the token against an originating app listening on an accessible address.
