CVE-2024-35222Public exploitNetwork attack vector

IPC command execution via uninitialized iframe messages

Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper access control in Tauri 1.6.6 and earlier and 2.0.0-beta.0 through 2.0.0-beta.19 allows attackers to invoke exposed IPC commands. Tauri initializes iframe IPC access without enforcing the parent window origin allowlist, and the IPC handler accepted messages from frames that Tauri core had not initialized. Exploitation requires script execution in a script-enabled iframe; invoked application commands can read or alter data or interrupt service according to the exposed command set.
