Credential disclosure via cleartext password storage
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cleartext credential storage in Siemens SINEC Traffic Analyzer before 1.2 allows local users with privileges to obtain access passwords. The affected web server persists its password in cleartext rather than protecting the stored credential, but Siemens does not identify the storage locus. Access to the privileged local storage exposes reusable passwords and can compromise accounts that accept those credentials.
