CVE-2024-35183Public exploit

GitHub token disclosure via unrestricted Git authentication

Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Credential exposure in Chainguard wolfictl before 0.16.10 allows local users to send GitHub tokens to non-GitHub Git servers. GetGitAuth reads GITHUB_TOKEN and returns BasicAuth that affected update callers attach to clone requests without first restricting the remote host to github.com. Exposure requires wolfictl update with an external URL, or check update with an external git-checkout, while a valid token is set.
