Arbitrary file disclosure via theme path traversal
Published May 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024
Path traversal in WPFactory Download Plugins and Themes from Dashboard before 1.8.6 allows remote authenticated users to read server files. The download_theme function fails to confine the requested theme path to the themes directory before packaging files into a ZIP archive. The request requires the switch_themes capability, and successful exploitation discloses arbitrary files readable by the WordPress server.
