Resource exhaustion in Bombastic for Red Hat Trusted Profile Analyzer allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via a bzip2 SBOM. The validator fully decompresses and buffers the upload in memory before parsing JSON, without limiting the expanded size. An authenticated account can submit a 69 KB bzip2 file that expands to about 100 GB, making the Bombastic pod unresponsive until OpenShift evicts and replaces it.
