CVE-2024-3506

Command execution via unchecked camera-driver copy

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Classic buffer overflow in XProtect VMS Device Pack 13.1a and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands on the Recording Server. Selected camera drivers copy data received while a Recording Server scans or adds a camera without checking the input size, overflowing a buffer. Exploitation requires internal-network access, active interaction during camera discovery, and strict conditions; commands run with the Recording Server user's permissions.
