SQL injection via interpolated telemetry packet names
Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in NASA AMMOS AIT-Core 2.5.2 allows attackers to execute injected SQL through crafted telemetry packet names. Both query_packets back ends interpolate packet names into SELECT strings; the upstream report describes insert as parameterized rather than injectable. Exploitation requires a malicious packet definition in tlm.yaml; the demonstrated SQLite path loads an extension and executes commands.
