Privilege retention via sessions surviving account deletion
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Insufficient session expiration in SurveyKing 1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to retain access after account deletion. The session lifecycle fails to invalidate an existing session ID when an administrator deletes its associated user account. An attacker must first obtain a valid user session; after deletion, replaying that session ID preserves authenticated access to view information.
