Authenticated account modification via unexpired session
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Insufficient session expiration in SurveyKing 1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to reuse a session after changing a password. The password-change workflow leaves the existing server-side session valid rather than invalidating it, so the same session can modify user information. Access to an already authenticated session is required, and the demonstrated consequence is continued modification of that session owner's user information.
